Initially developed to store energy at sea, REMORA technology is also available as an onshore energy storage solution. The principle, developed and patented by SEGULA Technologies, is as follows: storage is achieved through isothermal air compression, maximising the use of renewable energy by storing excess energy for later use.

REMORA Stack is a modular solution using 40-foot containers installed outdoors, aimed mainly at sites with a need for energy autonomy: industrial sites, production sites, eco-neighbourhoods, shopping centres, renewable energy parks, etc. It is a non-polluting, efficient (70% efficiency) and environmentally responsible solution thanks to the use of robust and standard technologies that give it a lifespan of at least 30 years.

As part of the European Air4NRG project, SEGULA is coordinating the development of several pilot installations for specific industrial cases. The aim of these is to verify the effectiveness of the technology and prepare for its industrialisation. An industrial-scale demonstrator will be installed at a test site in Portugal in 2026.

With its various variations, REMORA offers an economical, ecological, modular and versatile response to the energy storage needs of the future.
