Alongside numerous other activities, structure is a core aspect in the design of a train, a car or an aircraft. It consists of dimensioning their basic structure by developing components made from various materials. With specific characteristics depending on requirements, these components make an overall contribution to the creation of a framework that is robust as well as being lightweight and efficient.

A rail structure involves everything relating to the carcass of a train: its body, including a chassis, two sides and a roof, all generally being made from steel or aluminium.
For a car, this activity focuses on the body in white, accompanied by the engine, tyres, opening panels and ttings, which are mainly made from sheet metal, aluminium, plastic or composite materials.

In the case of an aircraft, the structure covers numerous areas such as the cockpit, the fuselage, the compartments housing the landing gear and certain internal components, frequently made from metal or composites, or hybrid solutions. Finally, on helicopters, this activity includes both interior trim and structural components such as rotor blades, fuel tanks, etc.
